Facilitation Training

Our Psilocybin Facilitator Training Program

In November 2020, voters in Oregon approved Measure 109 that directed the Oregon Health Authority to create a state-licensed, psilocybin assisted therapy framework that will allow trained facilitators to support individuals seeking this type of treatment here in Oregon.  The developing framework for Psilocybin Assisted Therapy will present an opportunity for facilitators in Oregon to build on decades of research showing the safety and effectiveness of psilocybin treatment and gives them another tool to assist in easing the suffering of people across the state.

Subtle Winds Facilitator Training is one of 24 programs currently licensed in the state of Oregon to provide training for those seeking to become (PAT) facilitators.

About our growing team of experts in the field

Since the psychedelic revolution of the 60’s, recreational psychedelic use has been commonplace at music festivals and events across the world. Unfortunately, the lack of appropriate standardized dosing recommendations, quality control of purity and strength, use of multiple substances simultaneously by individuals, and a lack of support for individuals who choose to take psychedelics, sometimes results in individuals experiencing negative and even potentially life-threatening consequences from the recreational use of psychedelics in these environments.

Our team of trainers and experts come from the long tradition of festival medicine and crisis support programs here in Oregon that stretch back to early 70’s rock concerts like the Grateful Dead and festivals like the Oregon Country Fair. The harm reduction model that emerged from those efforts to keep folks safe, blends psycho, spiritual, and socially minded therapeutic approaches with an emergency medicine set of protocols to intervene when necessary in an appropriate fashion.

Our team is made up of doctors, social workers, therapists, crisis workers, EMTs, nurses, and paramedics who are steeped in this tradition of person centered and harm reduction focused care for individuals who find themselves having a difficult psychedelic experience.  Our experts have been supporting individuals for decades by providing psychedelic harm reduction at festivals and events. Our Psilocybin Facilitator training program will build on that collective knowledge to provide top quality training to those interested in becoming guides and facilitators. We are always expanding our community and collaboration is one of our core values, so please reach out if you are interested in assisting in our efforts to support this new approach to wellness and healing.

sub·tly /ˈsəd(ə)lē,ˈsətlē/ adverb 1. in a manner that is so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe. “the script subtly shifts in tone from comedy to tragedy” 2. in a clever and indirect way, in order to achieve something.

The Subtle Winds Facilitator Training Program is currently fully approved as a certified training program in Oregon.  Our team of experts with decades of experience working directly with individuals having psychedelic experiences, will focus on ensuring the safety and effectiveness of psilocybin assisted therapy being provided across the state.

We have both met and innovated the guidelines for psilocybin assisted therapy creating curriculum that both meets standards set by the state, and introduces a highly personalized humanistic model that enables our facilitators to meet each individual exactly where they are at.

Subtle Winds will also expand this training to include introductory sessions for therapists, medical personnel, and others who are interested in learning more about psilocybin assisted therapy, so they can make educated referrals to the clients they serve in their own medical and behavioral health practices.
